Man on Fire Screening and Q&A

The Castle, a Putnam County–based nonprofit, hosts filmmakers Joel Fendelman and James Chase Sanchez for a screening of their award-winning documentary Man on Fire, which tells the story of a preacher in Texas who set himself on fire to protest the racist history of his town. The evening’s programming begins at 6:30 p.m. at DePauw University’s Richard E. Peeler Art Center with a reception in the lobby. The screening follows at 7:30 and includes a Q&A session with Fendelman and Sanchez, The program serves as the kickoff to a new project that Fendelman is undertaking—a documentary titled North Putnam, which focuses on the intersections between the North Putnam School Corporation and the surrounding community in an effort to shed light on rural America.
