Crossroads: Change in Rural America
As part of the INseparable theme, Indiana Humanities brought the Smithsonian’s Crossroads: Change in Rural America exhibit to six Hoosier communities from September 2019 to June 2020.
Crossroads: Change in Rural America is an exhibit developed by Museum on Main Street, a Smithsonian Institution program that works with rural communities to design and host high-quality exhibits and create dynamic public programs across the U.S.

Tour dates included:
- Aurora Public Library, Dillsboro Branch: Sept. 7, 2019–Oct. 20, 2019
- Washington County Historical Society (Salem): Oct. 26, 2019–Dec. 6, 2019
- Jennings County Historical Society (North Vernon): Dec. 14, 2019–Jan. 26, 2020
- Elkhart County Historical Museum (Bristol): Feb. 1, 2020–March 15, 2020
- North Manchester Center for History: June 14, 2020–July 17, 2020
- Historic New Harmony: Exhibit stop canceled due to Covid-19, local programs still occurred
Eight additional communities received grants to develop programs, mini-exhibits and other projects related to the theme of change in rural America.
