This weekend marks the end of the 38th Annual IHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament. Four teams will walk away with a trophy and the glory on Saturday night. This year’s match-up pairs several teams against previous champions and I suspect there’s a bit of rivalry between the current title-holders and their opponents. Will it be reigning champ Fort Wayne Canterbury or Vincennes Rivet for the Class A win? Will Eastern prevail over previous victor Evansville Mater Dei for 2A? Does Hamilton Heights have a shot agaisnt Mt. Vernon, who won the title in Class 3A last year? Class 4A is the only class without a state champion from last year; Fort Wayne South Side will take on Bedford North Lawrence (North Central beat Columbus North last year.)
