Read   Enjoy  And  Discuss = A Community Reading Project
Funding for Steuben READ Express is provided by the Humanities Institute at Trine University and the Steuben County Community Foundation.

Our broad theme this year is food—in affiliation with a two-year Indiana Humanities Council program Food for Thought.

Selected texts:

John Grisham’s Playing for Pizza, a fast-moving account of a failed NFL quarterback who goes to Italy to play American football and how he reacts to an entirely new culture (in which food and the companionship in the consumption thereof play a major part).

Bill Buford’s Heat:  the first half takes you behind the scenes in Mario Batali’s Babbo & shows you what it’s really like in the pressure-cooker kitchen of a major restaurant, while in the second half Buford pursues advanced studies in Italy with Batali’s expert teachers, from pasta chef to butcher.

All events are FREE (with the exception of the Nov. 6 dinner);  the public is invited to all!
