Poetry Prompt #15

It's National Poetry Month, so what better time to write some poetry? Here's a prompt to get you writing from Butler University's Alessandra Lynch.

One Sentence, Twelve Lines

For inspiration: W.S. Merwin’s “After the Spring

Write four simple words you love.

Begin your poem with the word “After” and write a twelve line poem that is one sentence long, using subordinate clauses to keep the poem going, and repeating those four words at least twice within that sentence.
