Goalball is a sport developed in 1946 in an effort to rehabilitate World War 2 veterans who were visually impaired. The sport became an official full-time Paralympic sport in 1980.
The game is played three on three with each player blindfolded. Each team tries to roll or throw the ball into the opponents net, while the defending team attempts to stop them.
