One in six Americans is food insecure. Families, children and the elderly–right here in Indiana–are stuggling to put food on the table every day.

That means Hoosiers must choose between food and rent, food and heat, and food and medicine, in order to pay the bills.

But there are ways to help–in fact 30 of them just this month. Check out Feeding America’s 30 ways in 30 days campaign. Today, all you have to do is pledge. Aft er that, things get a bit more hefty–but meaningful. Volunteer. Donate. Advocate.

Here at FoodforThoughtIndiana.org we’re taking the pledge. Our pledge is to provide information about ways to volunteer, support and advocate, but also to talk facts, and provide profiles about Indiana food banks and the people they serve.

We want to hear from you, too. Have advice for those who want to make a difference? We’ll take it. Send Kristen a note (kwells@indianahumanities.org) or make a comment below. We’re anxious to hear from you!
