Teens and young adults are invited to read and talk together as Voices and Votes: Democracy in America comes to the Prindle Institute. The Young Adult Book Club discusses March: Book One by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell.

About the Book

This graphic memoir tells the story of John Lewis, from his childhood on an Alabama farm to the Nashville lunch counter sit-ins, where he and other students put nonviolent protest into practice. It is a firsthand account of a young person who used his voice to change the country.

What does it take to stand up for what is right? When is a voice enough, and when does it take a movement? Come ready to share what you think, and to listen to what others do.
