Come to the IUPUI Campus Center Theatre for a free screening of Three Chaplains before it is shown nationwide on WFYI–
Muslim chaplains aim to make change in one of America’s most powerful institutions—the military—where they support and defend the religious rights of all service members. But their leadership sparks accusations of disloyalty and even disapproval from within their own communities. Resisting calls to blend in, the chaplains fight to maintain a balanced devotion to Islam, the Constitution and the military. For them, the fight for equality and religious freedom begins on the inside.
Director & producer David Washburn and producer Razi Jafri will join in-person for a post-screening Q&A. There will be some light food and refreshments served.
This event is organized in partnership with the Muslim Faculty & Staff Council, the IUPUI Multicultural Center, Office of Veterans and Military Personnel, WFYI, University Veterans Post 360 and the Veterans Faculty & Staff Council.
