Event Details

The Church of the Nativity (Episcopal) hosts its summer fiesta, featuring food trucks, games, art activities and more. The festival opens with a talk by scholar Nicole Martinez-LeGrand on Latino faith and culture (11 a.m. to noon), and in the afternoon (1 to 2 p.m.), La Salsoteca, an all-Latino band consisting of students, faculty and alumni from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, will perform and discuss pieces influenced by ’60s and ’70s salsa music in New York City, which initiated the tradition of salsa music in the United States.

For more information, email the Church of the Nativity at nativity@nativity-indy.org or call 317.849.3656.

This program received support from an Indiana Humanities Action Grant.
