Event Details
The Unity Foundation of La Porte County and its partners will debut Nature’s Architect, a short video essay that explores the fascinating story of how Trail Creek shaped the shoreline of Michigan City, Indiana. From the gentle currents of the creek to the accrual of sand along Sheridan Beach, the video takes viewers on a journey through the natural history of Indiana’s coast.
The event begins with the creators providing insights into the significance of the video, along with their artistic vision and creative process. A discussion will follow the screening, focusing on the interaction between humans, nature and the urban landscape in Michigan City. The program promises to provide comprehensive information about Trail Creek, the harbor’s features such as the jetty system and piers, and Michigan City’s iconic lighthouses. Additionally, it will highlight one of the city’s most cherished assets: the beautiful beach on the shores of Lake Michigan.
