Myaamia Plant Traditions

Hear Dani Tippmann, citizen of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and director of the Whitley County Historical Museum, discuss how the Myaamia (Miami) People have traditionally used plants as food and medicine.

Dani Tippmann, a citizen of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and the director of the Whitley County Historical Museum, will talk about the Myaamia (Miami) People’s traditional use of plants as food and medicine. She will discuss how the Myaamia People have passed this cultural knowledge from one generation to the next.

Attendees may visit the exhibit Meehkweelintamankwi Aanchsahaaciki: Our Forced Removal for free before and following the presentation. The Whitley County Historical Museum will host the exhibit through September 30, 2022.
