Event Details

The Indianapolis Black Documentary Film Festival kicks off its 2021 programming with a screening of Prom Night in Mississippi, which tells the story of the first integrated prom in Charleston, Mississippi, in 2008. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a reception featuring hors d’oeuvres, complimentary nonalcoholic beverages and a cash bar. The film begins at 7 p.m., and afterward Dr. Leslie Etienne, head of IUPUI’s Africana Studies department, will explore the themes in a conversation with the filmmaker, Paul Saltzman.
