Event Details

The New Castle–Henry County Public Library is sponsoring Henry County Reads, a community-wide read of the classic gothic novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. The library will distribute 500 free copies of the book and will offer several related programs, including a book discussion with the Daphne du Maurier Society of North America, a reader’s retreat, a lecture on Alfred Hitchcock’s 1940 film based on the book, and more.

The library will kick off Henry County Reads during an all-day celebration on October 1. Residents are invited to visit the library’s main circulation desk to pick up their free copy of Rebecca, learn about associated programs, and enjoy cupcakes.

For more information, call the library at 765.529.0362 ext. 1304 or email krystals@nchcpl.org, or visit the library’s event web page.

This program received support from an Indiana Humanities Action Grant.
