The first Sunday of the month, the Allen County–Fort Wayne Historical Society presents the George R. Mather Sunday Lecture Series. The series offers presentations by experts on history and other humanities subjects, often illuminating the role that Allen County people and events have played in the broader scope of national and international affairs.

This month’s lecture is “History and Impact of Landscape Architecture in Fort Wayne” presented by Alec Johnson, deputy director of planning and development for Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation. Johnson will discuss the role of landscape architects in the creation of both the Fort Wayne park system and the current landscape of the city as a whole.
