Event Details
The Tippecanoe County Historical Association, in cooperation with the Tippecanoe County Park and Recreation Department, hosts the 55th-annual Feast of the Hunters’ Moon festival on October 1 and 2. The Feast represents the time of homecoming, feasting, dancing and celebrating from the earliest days of historic Fort Ouiatenon (1717–1791), the first fortified European settlement in Indiana.
More than 40 different recreated period foods will put the “feast” in the Feast! Food booths are run by area nonprofit organizations as fundraisers for their community projects. Seven different arenas and stages plus numerous locations on the 30 acres of festival grounds feature performances by musicians, interpreters, military reenactors and Native American groups.
Hours are Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT. Information on tickets, shuttle buses and programming is available at www.feastofthehuntersmoon.org.
This program received support from an Indiana Humanities Action Grant.
