Event Details

Arab Indianapolis: A Hidden History, an official selection of the 31st annual Heartland International Film Festival, features IUPUI professor and historian Dr. Edward E. Curtis IV as he explores stories of Arab Americans across Indianapolis through food, health, religion and more. Following the screening of the hour-long film, a community discussion will be facilitated by Professor Lawrence Gerstein.

Led by an interdisciplinary advisory board of 26 university and community members, the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies supports and pursues scholarship, education, training, consultation, and outreach focused on addressing direct, structural, and cultural forms of violence and conflict. By hosting this event, they aim to further educate the university campus and community about the Arab culture and population in Indiana, and hopefully, reduce and prevent potential conflict.
