Beyond mudslinging commercials, debates are one of the forums where the incivility is at the forefront. The recent Indiana senatorial debate between Mourdock, Donnelly and Horning demonstrated both incivility and a call for civility.

Unfortunately, the only politicians who seem to call for civility this season are the ones that explicitly have something to gain from the demise of a two-party system. How can we foster the notion that civility is important for all politicians?
