Did you catch Man v. Food last night? Host Adam Richman did a quick tour of Central Indiana restaurants–hitting up Edward’s Drive-In for the legendaryIndiana pork tenderloin; Mooresville’s Gray Brothers Cafeteria  for its homecooked goodness; and finally Carmel’s Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream for the Big Ugly Burger Challenge. Check out photos from his shoot, here.

But Adam isn’t the only Travel Channel host in town these days. Celebrity Chef and world traveler Anthony Bourdain will be headlining a discussion about food culture with good buddy (and a celebrity chef in his own right) Eric Ripert on Sept. 30 at Clowes Memorial Hall. The presentation is co-sponsored by the Indiana Humanities Council and the Spirit & Place Festival, both of which are theming programs around the topic “Food for Thought.” Learn more, here.

As part of the Spirit & Place Festival, a 10-day humanities festival in Central Indiana, Andrew Zimmern will also make an Indy appearance. He’ll discuss traveling to under-explored places and talk about how “bizarre foods” can help us understand sustainability in other places, as well as the issue of disapperaring cultures around the globe.

Hope to see you at some of these fascinating discussions about how food and culture are intertwined!
