It’s our favorite time of the year here at Indiana Humanities – the air is crisp, the leaves are changing and, best of all, October is Arts and Humanities month! A whole month dedicated to the topics we love is nothing to take lightly and we are inviting you to share in our excitement.

To celebrate, we will be posting a series of blogs that deal with the topics of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and how the humanities compliment them and give them meaning.

Both the hard sciences and the humanities are equally important on their own, but when combined they can create something truly meaningful. You just can’t have one without the other and this month it is our goal to highlight this mutually beneficial relationship.

Throughout October there will be a total of four blog posts written by experts in the respective STEM fields. The topics of the blogs will center around the hard sciences with the angle that, as John Lithgow stated, the stem is nothing without the bloom of humanities to give it relevance.

The blogs will be posted throughout the month, so check in to stay up to date!

To help carry this theme to our audience, the posts will be accompanied by a series of inspired by the campaign by the University of Utah. Check out the poster (right) and get excited for the coming weeks!
