Join fellow building-lovers for an exploration into the rich history of the Custer site which sits at the intersection of 4th and Washington Streets. From Orr’s Corner to today, dig into its past as home to blacksmiths, bars, restaurants, and nearly every kind of retail shop imaginable. This talk will not only dive into the history of the building itself, but also discuss the critical role of historic preservation in protecting our cultural resources. Preserving such buildings ensures that the stories of its former residents live on, providing a deeper understanding of the rich history of the community, and inspiring the public to protect these irreplaceable pieces of shared history for future generations.
