In this enlightening post-show discussion, we turn our focus to the themes explored in IRT’s 5 pm production of “Nina Simone: Four Women” on Feb. 8, 2025, centered around the book “A Black Woman’s Guide to Getting Free,” authored by IRT Community Ambassador and panel moderator Tamara Winfrey Harris. Joined by a panel of experts, including Ambassadors LaShawnda Crowe-Storm, Manon Voice, and Jessica Louise, they will unpack the six pillars of living free as a Black woman, offering empowering, feminist-driven guidance on how to live authentically and unapologetically.
Together, we’ll explore what liberation means today and how Black women and femmes can navigate and dismantle the stereotypes and expectations imposed by dominant culture. This session promises to be an inspiring journey towards self-discovery and freedom.
