Indiana Humanities has announced the dates for its 2024 Unearthed Film Tour—featuring films from eight different Hoosier filmmaking teams that showcase new perspectives on the land we call Indiana.  

The films are part of Indiana Humanities’ Unearthed initiative, a multiyear environmental theme that features stories from across the state, told by Hoosiers, highlighting our relationships with the environments in which we live. From the shores of Lake Michigan to the fields and farms of central Indiana, the Unearthed Film Tour will offer windows into the lives of Indiana residents working, exploring, and caring for the land.

“These films invite viewers to think deeply about their relationship to the land we live on,” said Megan Telligman, Indiana Humanities director of programs. “We’re both grateful and proud to share the work of these filmmakers, and in turn, share what so many people and communities are doing to care for and engage with Indiana’s environment.”  

Films on this tour will include Worm Land by Will Wertz and Kolton Dallas; Symbiotic Hum by Jessica Dunn and Landon Caldwell; Finding our Sense of Place in Madison County by Moriarty Media; Grown in Gary by Samuel Love and Raymar Brunson; Launching the Lagoon by Jessica Renslow and Gretchen Sipp; Regenerate Indiana by the Moreau College Initiative of Holy Cross College at Notre Dame; Root Black by Manón Voice.

The organization would also like to acknowledge the support of the Joe and Carol Trimmer Indiana Film Fund, a donor-designated fund at Indiana Humanities to support telling more Indiana stories through film.
