Novel Conversations 2021 Recap

Our annual recap featuring the top books and authors checked out by users of our Novel Conversations program, a free lending library for book clubs.

Without further ado, the book that Novel Conversations users checked out most in 2021 was The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown.

This 2013 nonfiction title chronicles the story of the nine-person rowing team from the University of Washington, who represented the United States at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, while also describing the rise of Hitler’s Germany leading up to World War II.
