INconversation is an Indiana Humanities program that engages a small, intimate group in interesting, engaging and insightful conversations with some of the nation’s most intriguing thought leaders. This question-and-answer style discussion involves the thought leader, a moderator and the audience. For our second INconversation, we spoke with Will Allen, a former Miami Hurricane basketball star who has become an influential and inspiring urban farmer.
The discussion was moderated by Bill Benner, a long-time Indianapolis sports journalist, commentator and local sports expert.

About Will
The son of sharecroppers and the first African-American to play college basketball for the University of Miami, Will is widely considered the leading authority in the expanding field of urban agriculture.
On Jan. 13, he received the prestigious Theodore Roosevelt Award from the NCAA. Last year, Will was named to the Time 100 World’s Most Influential People list, and is only the second farmer to be named a John D. and Katherine T. McArthur Foundation Fellow.
