Virtual Indiana History Teacher Workshop: The Story Of The Buffalo Trace

Hosted by Indiana’s Historic Pathways

Join Indiana’s Historic Pathways for an online workshop about the Buffalo Trace. Geared toward teachers of grades 3–5, the workshop shares the history of this early route through southern Indiana and offers ideas on how to incorporate the information into the classroom via hands-on activities.

Event Details

Indiana’s Historic Pathways will host a virtual workshop for teachers (also open to the public) to highlight the Buffalo Trace, a historic path through southern Indiana carved by bison and used by Native Americans and early settlers. Scholars and other experts will share the history of the Buffalo Trace, exploring topics related to Native Americans, the Indiana Territory and the Underground Railroad. An interactive teacher panel will discuss ideas on how to incorporate the information into classrooms using hands-on projects and activities.
