Set against the backdrop of early Indiana, To Make a Beginning is the compelling tale of Jacob and Charlotte Weaver, who immigrated from New York State to the wilds of the Indiana Territory during the height of the War of 1812. The story is based upon 34 years of letters. The film was shot on location at historic Musee de Venoge (the Weaver homestead) and other locations in Switzerland County.
After the showing, there will be a reception at Musee de Venoge, 4085 Hwy 129, Vevay. Attendees can meet the cast, enjoy music and fun in the “tavern” and visit the “room where it happened.”
