To Make a Beginning Premiere
Hosted by Musee de VenogeCelebrate with Musee de Venoge as it debuts a film featuring the story of Switzerland County pioneers Jacob and Charlotte Weaver.
Event Details
Set against the backdrop of early Indiana, the film To Make a Beginning tells the compelling story of Jacob and Charlotte Weaver, who immigrated from New York State to the wilds of the Indiana Territory during the height of the War of 1812. The film’s narrative is based upon 34 years of letters. It was shot on location at historic Musee de Venoge (the Weaver homestead) and other locations in Switzerland County.
The Hoosier Theater in Vevay will host the film’s premiere on the evening of July 31. After the showing, Musee de Venoge (4085 Hwy 129, Vevay) will hold a reception. Attendees can meet the cast, enjoy music and fun in the “tavern” and visit the “room where it happened.”
