Event Details

The Myaamia Heritage Foundation hosts the inaugural Myaamia Cultural Fest to celebrate the heritage and culture of Fort Wayne’s Indigenous people, the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma.

Activities will include traditional Myaamia (Miami) games, talks about the Tribe’s history, and vendors selling handmade Myaamia artwork. Myaamia artists will offer live demonstrations and lead hands-on activities where visitors can explore art forms such as beadwork, basketry, and finger weaving. Visitors can even create and take home their own finger-woven keychain!

The event is free and open to all ages and takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of Barr and Berry Streets in downtown Fort Wayne, between the YLNI Farmers Market and the Taste of the Arts festival.
