Event Details

The Nelson Algren Museum of Miller Beach celebrates the life and legacy of Janis Joplin during a night of education and entertainment. Biographer Holly George-Warren shares a little-known side of Joplin’s life, and Algren Museum cofounder Sue Rutsen discusses parallels between Joplin and author Nelson Algren, who’s celebrated at the museum. After the conversation, Joplin tribute band Cheap Thrills performs Joplin’s hits and gets the crowd moving.
