Event Details

Join local historian Karen Vincent for an engaging look at the life and career of Muncie native Emily Kimbrough. Many know that Kimbrough authored several books, including How Dear to My Heart about her early years in Muncie. Less widely known is the remarkable scope of her career—she was a magazine editor, hosted her own radio program, wrote magazine articles and television scripts, traveled internationally, and crisscrossed the country as a lecturer. Guests will gain a deeper understanding of her life and influence beyond Muncie—drawing from a large collection of manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, and personal papers donated to the Delaware County Historical Society—while enjoying delicious appetizers.

Preregistration is strongly preferred (use the RSVP link above); limited walk-in tickets may be available—please call ahead.
