The Jennings County Historical Society hosts its “Exploring the History and Legacy of Slavery in Indiana” series featuring Sue Livers, a historian of Indiana’s Black history. Livers will present programs that explain the ways that slavery existed in Indiana, discuss enslaved people’s lives and their struggles for freedom in Indiana’s early years, examine the long-term effects of slavery on Black communities in the region, and talk about lynchings in the state.
