Care Not Cages Film Series: “Beyond Walls” Short Film Program
Hosted by Indiana University CinemaJoin IU Cinema as it examines the American carceral system through documentary films and community conversations.

Through several award-winning documentary film programs, Indiana University Cinema’s Care Not Cages series examines the American carceral system, from the wide-reaching national prison-industrial complex to the local proposed construction of a new jail in Monroe County, Indiana. With community conversations following each film, the series will spark conversation on how to create alternatives to incarceration and build a more just, equitable and caring community.
The series’s “Beyond Walls” program features a collection of documentary shorts chronicling efforts toward prison abolition in the United States. A question-and-answer session will follow the screening.
