Event Details

From January 23 to June 29, the Monroe County History Center hosts the exhibit Barns of Monroe County: Our Heritage Built in Wood. The exhibit explores traditional building styles for barns in Monroe County and interprets what the shape and construction of a barn tells about the farmer who built it (including the farmer’s immigration story). The exhibit also explores how barns have changed over time, assimilating and adapting to the Monroe County landscape. A highlight of the exhibit is a virtual-reality tour of the East-Munson barn, an English threshing barn built circa 1885.

The exhibit is open during the history center’s regular hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For more information, visit the history center’s website or email education@monroehistory.org.
