Event Details
To engage the community with its campus, Indiana University South Bend presents Pop-Up University at LangLab, a free public lecture series consisting of TED-style talks by IU South Bend faculty. These virtual lectures take place on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
April’s program features Kristyn Quimby, professor in the Vera Z. Dwyer College of Health Sciences. Quimby will explore the concepts of health and wellness and what they mean in a world where the risk of contracting a virus or developing a chronic disease is increasing even among seemingly healthy individuals. She’ll discuss the state of public health, given what we’re facing in our local communities, state, nation and world. And she’ll offer ideas on tools and resources we can use to improve public health . . . or at least to prevent a zombie apocalypse.
