SUMMARY:Morton High School: The American Protest
DESCRIPTION:Students in the advanced American history courses at Hammond’s Morton High School will design and executive a weeklong series of programs on “The American Protest\,” including an exhibition that showcases a diverse range of protests throughout American history\, from peaceful marches to acts of civil disobedience. Focusing on the right to speak\, assemble and petition\, as guaranteed by the First Amendment\, the exhibition explores the role of dissent in American life in its protected and unprotected expressions.
