SUMMARY:THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION  Screening & Discussion (Merrillville)
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence\, a screening of the new PBS documentary “The American Revolution” will be shown. The program will feature clips from the longer 12-part series\, followed by a moderated panel discussion to explore service as a core American value – examining volunteerism\, civic participation\, public leadership\, and more. Light refreshments will be served. \nThis program has been made possible by Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations\, Lakeshore Public Media\, and Indiana Humanities\, with special thanks to the Lake County Public Libraries. The American Revolution\, directed by Ken Burns\, Sarah Botstein\, and David Schmidt examines how America’s founding turned the world upside down. \nCorporate funding for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION was provided by Bank of America.
