SUMMARY:Pioneers of Lockerbie Square: The Revival of Indianapolis's Oldest Neighborhood Short Films Screening and Reception
DESCRIPTION:The Lockerbie Square Neighborhood Association recently gathered oral histories from people who helped to revitalize the historic Indianapolis neighborhood in the 1970s and 1980s. The interviews explore the civic\, economic\, and ethical dimensions of preservation; participants not only recount events but also reflect on decision-making processes\, trade-offs\, policy considerations\, and the long-term consequences of preservation efforts. \nDuring this program\, the neighborhood association will screen several of the recorded interviews and host a reception\, allowing further conversation with the interview subjects. The program takes place in the Sky Gallery at the Harrison Center. \nFor more information\, email questions@lockerbieneighborhood.org. \nThis program received support from a Historic Preservation Education Grant offered by Indiana Humanities and Indiana Landmarks.
