SUMMARY:Unapologetically Noir Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:“What does it mean to be Black?” is one of the main questions centered around the exhibit Unapologetically Noir 2022. Featuring over 60 photographs of Black men and women from all walks of life\, the exhibit showcases diverse physical and mental characteristics of the participants. \nThe Hammond Development Corporation’s Creative Hub will host Unapologetically Noir 2022 from February 18 to March 18. The exhibit is part of a broad initiative that Decay Devils is undertaking to explore the Black experience in northwest Indiana. Other activities will include a website with documentary photos and personal narratives\, as well as a series of conversations that will bring together people from diverse backgrounds to explore challenges the region faces\, including racial divides\, but also to highlight strengths and ways to redefine the future. \nTo check on the Creative Hub’s hours of operation\, contact the Hammond Development Corporation at 219.803.6301 or admin@hdcnwi.org. \nFor more information about the exhibition and associated activities\, contact Decay Devils at decaydevils@gmail.com. \nThis program received support from an Indiana Humanities Innovation Grant.
