SUMMARY:Indiana Authors Awards Speakers Program: Gabrielle Balkan
DESCRIPTION:Gabrielle Balkan is an Indiana Author Award honoree and author of children’s nonfiction books about animal anatomy\, geography\, and art. In Book of Bones and Book of Flight\, readers ages 5-10 read clues to guess which animal is breaking records with their unique bones or in flight. In the four books in The 50 States series\, readers ages 8-12 browse illustrated U.S. atlases to learn essential and curious information for readers. In What the Artist Saw: Georgia O’Keeffe\, meet famous American painter Georgia O’Keeffe. Step into her life and learn what led her to look closely at nature and paint her iconic paintings of flowers and bones. \nBalkan will visit with elementary students K-5 earlier in the day.
