These\nstations combine activities\, conversations\, and experiences that will engage\, delight\,\nand challenge\, all while while celebrating our American system of self-government\nand the principles that inspired the founders in 1776. \nThe evening also includes a special video premiere preview of The American Revolution\,\na new documentary by Ken Burns\, Sarah Botstein\, and David Schmidt. \nPARTNER ORGANIZATIONS \nBenjamin Harrison Presidential Site | WFYI | Indiana Humanities\nFuture Presidents of America | League of Women Voters | Marion County Election Board \nABOUT THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION \nThirteen American colonies unite in rebellion\, win an eight-year war to secure their independence\,\nand establish a new form of government that would\ninspire democratic movements at home and around the globe. What begins as a political clash\nbetween colonists and the British government grows into a bloody struggle that will engage\nmore than two dozen nations and forever change the world. \nThis six-part\, 12-hour documentary will premiere on Sunday\, November 16\, 2025 on WFYI\,\nand air for six consecutive nights through Friday\, November 21 at 8-10 p.m. \nCorporate funding for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION was provided by Bank of America. DESCRIPTION:Join the Indiana Historical Society Local History Services Department and Indiana Humanities for a free in-person regional meeting on the topic of the upcoming U.S. Semiquincentennial. As part of a year-long collaboration\, this conversation will help prepare Hoosier public historians\, librarians\, educators\, and others for the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. We’ll discuss news about planning at the state and national level and brainstorm local ideas. \nThis in-person visit to the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site will encourage conversations about how engaging with the 250th can create meaningful programming in your community.
