DESCRIPTION:Dani Tippmann\, a citizen of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and the director of the Whitley County Historical Museum\, will talk about the Myaamia (Miami) People’s traditional use of plants as food and medicine. She will discuss how the Myaamia People have passed this cultural knowledge from one generation to the next. \nAttendees may visit the exhibit Meehkweelintamankwi Aanchsahaaciki: Our Forced Removal for free before and following the presentation. DESCRIPTION:George Ironstrack will speak about the impact of forced removal on the revitalization of the Myaamia language and culture. Ironstack serves as the assistant director (and director of the education office) at  the Myaamia Center at Miami University of Ohio. He regularly researches and writes about Myaamia history.
