DESCRIPTION:Throughout the summer\, Decay Devils is hosting a series of activities in downtown Gary that help the people of northwest Indiana learn about the history of Gary\, appreciate its diversity and celebrate its culture. \nFlavors of the Region will highlight some of the amazing food and art in northwest Indiana. SUMMARY:Ride to Preservation and Ice Cream-ish Social
DESCRIPTION:Throughout the summer\, Decay Devils is hosting a series of activities in downtown Gary that help the people of northwest Indiana learn about the history of Gary\, appreciate its diversity and celebrate its culture. \nRide to Preservation is a five-mile bike ride through the city. Participants will see landmarks and art while experiencing the most photographic vantage points of the downtown area. The ride takes place from 10 a.m. to noon CDT and kicks off at the Hudson and Campbell Sports and Fitness Center at 455 Massachusetts St. \nAfter the ride\, join Decay Devils at Fifth and Broadway Park\, located in the 500 blook of Broadway\, from noon to 2:30 p.m. CDT and learn about plans for the park’s overhaul. Jodi’s Italian Ice Factory will serve up treats\, and the first 100 attendees will receive two free scoops. \nTo register\, click on the RSVP button above. DESCRIPTION:“What does it mean to be Black?” is one of the main questions centered around the exhibit Unapologetically Noir 2022. Featuring over 60 photographs of Black men and women from all walks of life\, the exhibit showcases diverse physical and mental characteristics of the participants. \nThe Hammond Development Corporation’s Creative Hub will host Unapologetically Noir 2022 from February 18 to March 18. The exhibit is part of a broad initiative that Decay Devils is undertaking to explore the Black experience in northwest Indiana.
