Each October we celebrate National Arts & Humanities Month by spreading messages about what the humanities are, why they’re important and how they impact your life, whether you realize it or not.

Over the next month you’ll hear from us about a few specific ways we’re bringing the humanities to life by empowering Hoosiers to tell Indiana stories. It’s a role that’s unique to Indiana Humanities as grantmakers, as funders of more than a dozen films, as the catalyst behind the Indiana Authors Awards and as we fund fellowships to unearth new scholarship through research.

There are two ways you can help us celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month:

  1. We believe Indiana’s stories deserve to be told onscreen, in books and in our communities. Will you help us tell them by donating below?
  2. Join us for a special virtual screening of Larry from Gary, one of the incredible films we’ve supported that’s now making its way to film festivals around the country and not available to view online. After the screening, stick around for an exclusive Q&A with award-winning filmmaker Dan Rybicky and Larry Brewer, the inspiring educator at the heart of the film. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go to the Joe & Carol Trimmer Indiana Film Fund.
