SUMMARY:Smithsonian's Voices and Votes: Democracy in America Exhibition (French Lick)
DESCRIPTION:The Smithsonian’s traveling exhibition\, Voices and Votes: Democracy in America\, will continue its tour of Indiana at the Timeless French Lick Visitors Bureau where it will be on display from May 16-June 28\, 2026. The exhibition gives an in-depth look on America’s democracy and brings discussions about democracy to local communities. Host organizations will present a companion exhibition and series of programs in their communities during the exhibit’s six-week visit. \nIn Orange County\, the exhibition will be open during the following hours: \nMonday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM\nSaturday:10:00 AM – 5:00 PM\nSunday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM \nThe exhibit will tour the seven small towns across Indiana during the Semiquincentennial\, which commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. SUMMARY:PBS's THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Screening (Syracuse)
DESCRIPTION:Syracuse Public Library is partnering with PBS Michiana to present a special screening of the “American Revolution” documentary\, directed by Ken Burns\, Sarah Botstein\, and David Schmidt. It explores the founding of the U.S.\, focusing on the rebellion of thirteen colonies\, the eight-year war for independence\, and the creation of a new government\, with a special emphasis on diverse perspectives\, including women\, Native people\, and Black Americans. \nThe library will host the Spirit of Service reel. Join this screening from 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday\, June 27\, in the library’s downstairs meeting room. \nCorporate funding for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION was provided by Bank of America. DESCRIPTION:Join WFYI on Saturday\, June 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Putnam County Museum to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Attendees will enjoy a screening and discussion around segments of THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION focused on the spirit of service\, face painting\, homemade pie competition\, a visit from the Greencastle Fire Department\, a 250th time capsule where the community will be able to contribute and more! \nAll are welcome to attend! \nPresented in partnership with the Putnam County Museum. \nCorporate funding for THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION was provided by Bank of America.
