Poetry on Brick Street presents poet Catherine Bowman at the SullivanMunce Cultural Center in Zionsville. Bowman will read her poetry, followed by a brief intermission and an open mic. The event is free and open to the public.
Bowman’s most recent poetry collection is The Plath Cabinet (Four Way Books, 2009,) and her poems have appeared in literary journals and magazines including TriQuarterly, River Styx, Conjunctions, Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, The Los Angeles Times, Crazy Horse, the New Yorker, and the Paris Review. Her work as also been published in six editions of The Best American Poetry. Bowman has been awarded fellowships from Yaddo and the New York Foundation for the Arts. She collaborates regularly with composer and bassist John Lindberg, and they have performed and taught workshops in North America and Europe. Bowman is the Director of the Creative Writing Program at Indiana University, and also teaches at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. She lives in Bloomington, Indiana.
