This spring the League of Women Voters of Hancock County sponsored a community-wide read of the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson. On Thursday, May 6, they’ll host a free screening of the film version of Just Mercy. The in-person screening will take place at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts. starting at 6 p.m. The League will also offer streaming options for those who do not wish to attend in person.
Stick around after the film screening (beginning at approximately 8:40 p.m.) for a conversation about the topics covered in the book and movie. Erin Kelly, program director at Spirt & Place, will lead the discussion. Panelists will include Mike Cunigan, a retired police officer, and Brent Eaton, the Hancock County prosecutor.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Linda Dunn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
