Next Indiana Campfires: Urban Wilderness Trail
Event Details

Like the White River itself, the Urban Wilderness Trail runs through the heart of Indianapolis, providing vital places for animals and plants to thrive and people to enjoy its beauty. Join us for sunset hike, following the trail along the White River as we learn about hidden pockets of wildlife and how they are shaped by urban industries and populations. We’ll end our trek with a picturesque picnic along the White River before shuttling back to Martin Park.

Each trek is co-led by a humanities scholar and a naturalist. Along the way, we stop to read short writings by Indiana nature writers. Each trek concludes with a shared meal and discussion around a campfire.

Your ticket price includes a campfire meal, Upland Brewing Co. beers and snacks from Bloomington’s Everyday Adventure Treats, in addition to any entrance or rental fees associated with the trek.

SCHOLAR-FACILITATOR: Katy Didden, Ball State University
