The Writers Guild at Bloomington presents Last Sunday Poetry, featuring readings by poets Steve Henn and Josh A. Brewer. Participants can share their own work at an open-mic session following the readings.

Steve Henn teaches high school English in northern Indiana. His books include Indiana Noble Sad Man of the Year (2017), Guilty Prayer (2021), and Trying to Catch a Flame in this Windstorm at the End of the World (2025). His latest book, Deep Cuts, is due out from Wolfson Press in 2026.

Josh A. Brewer reviews poetry for Harvard Review. He’s the author of When Is a Will and editor of Writers Resist: Hoosier Writers Unite and a forthcoming poetry textbook. His work has been published in Southeast Review, RHINO, Booth, Bluestem, Common Ground Review, Sargasso, and elsewhere.

Organizers encourage guests to arrive 20 to 50 minutes before the 7 p.m. program start time so they can sign up for the open mic; meet the featured poets, the event host, and other Writers Guild members; and purchase books. Food and beverages are available in the bookstore’s cafe until 6:30 p.m.
