Throughout the month of May, the Friends of the Frankfort Public Library is hosting In the Trenches of World War I, a series of programs that offer compelling stories about the war and educate the community about its history and impact.
The featured program on May 6 is a presentation by military historian and best-selling author Patrick O’Donnell on his book The Unknowns: The Untold Story of America’s Unknown Soldier and WWI’s Most Decorated Heroes Who Brought Him Home. In The Unknowns, O’Donnell tells the history of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the stories of the heroes who are connected to it. During his talk, O’Donnell will share highlights from the book and discuss his research.
At least three days before the presentation, the library will provide on its website (www.myfcpl.org) and on its Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/myfcpl) a Zoom link. The library asks that those interested in attending email questions to firstname.lastname@example.org by May 1.
The library will post on its website a recording of O’Donnell’s presentation from May 6 through May 31.
