Helping Hands at Cravenhurst Barn
Learn valuable preservation techniques while working to save one of Indiana's most endangered landmarks
Event Details

Historic Madison, Inc., presents a three-day program that offers local youth the opportunity to work alongside preservation professionals as they explore, document and carry out maintenance/damage mitigation work on Cravenhurst Barn, a unique and historic structure in the town of Madison (and one of Indiana Landmarks’ 10 most endangered landmarks in 2018).

This third and final workshop will focus on “shining up” the front of the barn so that people can envision what it might look like fully restored. Participants will install windows, paint the facade and create a fundraising sign.

Participants must be at least 14 years old. To sign up, email cravenhurstbarn@gmail.com with the participant’s name, phone number and email address. The deadline to register is Sept. 4. Participants may choose to take part in any or all of the workshops (on Sept. 6, Sept. 18 and Sept. 20), but enrollment is limited, so we encourage you to sign up early.

For more information, contact Rhonda Deeg, rhonda@historicmadisoninc.com, 812.265.2967.

This program received funding from a Historic Preservation Education Grant.
